The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program was
developed in the School of Medicine at the University of
Massachusetts by Jon Kabat Zinn, Ph.D., the popular
author of
Full Catastrophe Living, Wherever You Go
There you Are
, and other books that offer an approach
to coping with excessive stress. The course includes
27
hours of participatory instruction and practice in
these techniques:
Body Awareness

Mindful movement and gentle stretching

Concentration and meditation

Mental and emotional awareness exercises

Group discussions
Services
Courses typically run eight weeks with one 2 1/2 hour  session per week
plus one Saturday day-long session. Classes can accommodate 5-30
persons.
